St. Patrick’s Day Handprint Rainbow

This is a fun and easy keepsake craft to do with your kids for St. Patrick’s Day! Both of my girls had so much fun making their rainbow. We put them up as part of our St. Patrick’s Day decor in our home and they love looking at them. I plan to get them laminated so their precious little prints are protected forever!

What you need:

Rainbow Set Up

  • 6 paint colors of your choice (I went with the traditional rainbow colors)
  • Paint brushes
  • A pot of gold (You can draw one or print one off the computer)
  • Gold Coins (I got gold paper and drew circles for my daughter to cut out)
  • Glue Stick
  • Piece of White paper 11×14

What to do:

Paint the blue sky at the top of the page and green grass at the bottom of the page.

Step 1

This is how it will look once you’ve painted your sky and grass. Let dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Once the paper is dry, decide where you are going to put your pot of gold. You want to put your first hand print slightly under it. Next, with your first color, paint an even layer on your child’s hand. Make your hand print, wash hand and move on to the next color. Continue these steps until you make your rainbow.

A Rainbow Handprint

Let rainbow dry completely then glue on pot of gold and coins.
Once those are on there you can fill in the white spots with some blue paint.

K Rainbow Handprint

Each rainbow will come out slightly different depending on how big/small your child’s hands are.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Live, Laugh, Love,
Kristin
