Our Juice Plus+ Journey


Woohooo! I am SO excited that our Juice Plus+ package arrived this week! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Juice Plus+, it’s a whole food supplement, containing 30 different fruits, vegetables and grains that have been juiced and dehydrated into powder form. It’s not a multivitamin full of synthetic vitamins, just fruits, veggies and grains!

I found out about Juice Plus+ through my amazing friend Kim, who is a fitness and wellness guru. (Follow her blog Deliberate Movement for tips and motivation to reach your ultimate physical potential!) After hearing about Juice Plus+ from Kim and learning her reasons for trying this great supplement, I needed to know more! I spent the next couple days doing a TON of research on the product. (I know shocking, right?! Ha!)

Through my research I found out that Juice Plus+ has been around since 1993 and there have been over 30 clinical research studies done on their product. The results of the studies show the many benefits of using Juice Plus+ both on a physical and mental level. The best part is when an adult orders Juice Plus+ a child can get Juice Plus+ for free as part of their children’s study. Yep, FREE! After I overloaded myself with information I came to the conclusion that Juice Plus+ could only benefit myself and my family. So I got in contact with Kim and told her to sign me up!

Ultimately I decided to give Juice Plus+ a try because I would like to improve my overall health and I would like to see Kailey have a more balanced diet. Since having kids I have started to get sick more frequently and find myself exhausted at times…OK, most of the time. Also, life has become crazy busy and I’m not always able to get in all of the fruits and veggies my body needs to be completely nourished. I am hoping that by getting the extra vitamins and minerals from Juice Plus+ I will feel better, want to eat healthier and have more energy. Which I desperately need to keep up with my two extremely energetic, nonstop girls!

Kailey is definitely lacking in the well balanced nutrition department. Shortly after turning 3, she became a picky eater. Gone are the days where she would eat a whole avocado, strawberries without whip cream, carrots, bananas, broccoli, and the list goes on. What the hell happened?! She is always asking for “snacks” (which usually means her gluten free pretzels) so I try to suggest yogurt, applesauce, apple and peanut butter etc. I do my best to hide veggies in the food I make her, but if she sees them or knows that they’re in there, she wants nothing to do with the meal. It has become an extremely frustrating and exhausting battle! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the meltdowns, which I know are partly to blame on lack of balanced nutrition. I feel like lately I am constantly on the verge of loosing it! I am really hoping that by creating a more balanced diet, the amount of meltdowns we endure will decrease. (Fingers crossed!) Obviously I know that fruits and veggies in their natural form are best, but since she’s not havin it right now, this is the next best thing!

    Thanks for sharing about this girl. I can so relate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am definitely going to check into this. With being so darn busy, I don’t always have time in the morning to make our fruit/veggie juice and man I need a lot of extras of those these days to keep my eyes open. I am excited to learn more about this too.

      No problem Gina! A busy lifestyle makes it very difficult to get in all the fruits and veggies we need. I’ve only been taking Juice Plus+ for 5 days and I already feel a difference in what my body is craving. I love bread and usually eat it daily. Both yesterday and today I have wanted fruit and salad. Don’t get me wrong I eat a lot of fruit and salad, but normally I would have rather eaten half a baguette! LOL I have not wanted to eat bread at all the past two days which is shocking for me!
