KnowMom! Recipe: Roasted Garbanzo Beans


These roasted garbanzo beans are a great snack. My whole family loves them including my kids!! They are easy to make and so yummy! Slightly crunchy but creamy at the same time. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.



  • 2 (15 ounce) cans Garbanzo Beans
  • 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Hot Mexican Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cummin
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Salt to taste


Pre heat oven to 350. Rinse garbanzo beans well with cool water. Shake to help remove water and let sit to drain.

Mix all the dry ingredients together and set aside. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil and spray with cooking spray.

Move garbanzo’s to a flat surface in a single layer and gently pat dry with paper towels. Move to lined cookie sheet.

Spray the top of the garbanzo’s with cooking spray and sprinkle most of the dry mixture on the beans. Shake the pan slightly to help distribute the seasoning. Make sure the beans are in a single layer.


Place pan in the oven on the lowest rack. Return every 15-20 minutes to shake the pan so nothing burns. After the first shake sprinkle the rest of the dry mixture over the top. Cook until the beans are browned and crispy. About 45 minutes.


Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Pour into a bowl and snack away! They are great both hot and cold.
