I’m a coffee lover. I drink coffee every morning, and sometimes in the afternoon if I need an extra boost. A regular cup of coffee will usually help get me going but by mid afternoon I’m struggling to keep my energy level up. Well it used to be like that, not anymore!
Sometime during Alyssa’s newborn phase, I was up for a late night feeding and came across a recipe for a super energizing coffee drink. I took a screen shot of the ingredients and totally forgot about it until a few months ago when I was looking for some pictures on my computer. I decided to test it out since my energetic toddlers have been waking up a bit earlier and I love it!
I wish I knew where I found this delicious energizing drink recipe so I could give kudos to the creator, but I have no clue! I ended up changing the recipe a little bit from the original and it’s so tasty! Not only is it energizing, but it also has immune boosters which is a huge plus. This is now my daily go to coffee drink. It’s really easy to make and a great way to start your day!
- 1-2 cups coffee
- 1 Tablespoon Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Protein Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/8 Teaspoon Turmeric
- A pinch of Cayenne
Blend drink, do not stir! (Stirring will not give you the same results) Serve hot or over ice.
It comes out frothy, thick and delicious! I usually add a bit more cinnamon than what it calls for because I LOVE it! Be careful with the cayenne, if you add too much it overpowers the drink.
